Mixing the Necessary with the Unnecessary

Mixing the Necessary with the Unnecessary

General Yasser Al-Atta’s Assistant Chief of Staff for the Sudanese Armed Forces, constantly stirs the Sudanese political scene with fiery statements. His recent remarks, declaring Al-Burhan as president for the transitional period and beyond, are met with skepticism on the ground. It is widely known that state institutions have been hijacked by remnants of the old regime, including the military. This jeopardizes the country’s stability, leaving citizens without essential services. If the Transitional Sovereignty Council, with Yasser Al-Atta as one of its pillars, fails to act decisively, chaos will prevail.

The appointment of a prominent figure from the Islamist movement as leader signifies a dangerous shift, potentially fueling conflict and prolonging instability. The Islamist group’s growing influence raises concerns about their hidden motives. Yasser Al-Atta must translate his bold statements into concrete action by dismantling remnants of the old regime within state institutions.

Closing, with a call for the Transitional Sovereignty Council to address economic, social, and political challenges comprehensively. Sudan cannot afford to be led astray by those seeking personal gain at the expense of the nation. The council’s inaction risks emboldening divisive forces, hindering the country’s progress. Yasser Al-Atta’s role in this pivotal moment will determine Sudan’s future path. Efforts must be focused on unity, progress, and uprooting the remnants of the past.

Wishing good health, prosperity, and victory to the Sudanese army.
