كورس تمليك الحرف النوبي استمرارٌ لمسيرة الهرم مكي علي إدريس في إحياء اللغة والتراث
“The Nubian script mastery course… a continuation of the journey of Al-Haram Makki Ali Idris in reviving the language and heritage.”
Amani Mohammed Saleh

As part of the commemoration of the Nubian icon, Makki Ali Idris, the Nubian script mastery course was launched. This course is one of the projects the late scholar believed in and tirelessly worked to realize. The project is a tribute to his life and his significant contributions to preserving and promoting the Nubian language.
The course is now in its second week, attracting a large and enthusiastic audience of students from various age groups. The program is offered both in person (offline) and online, allowing students from within Egypt and abroad, particularly from European countries, to participate.
The curriculum focuses on teaching the Nubian language in its two dialects, Kenzi and Fadija. Dr. Salah Khalil, a professor of the Nubian language, explained that the letters and pronunciation are the same in both dialects, while the differences lie in the meanings.
Among the attendees was Nader Al-Samani, a student who described the language as easy and easy to pronounce, noting that it has 26 letters, with three letters not found in the Nubian alphabet. He added that he was able to write his name in Nubian easily, considering the neglect of this language a shortcoming that must be rectified, given its integral role in identity.
The course features a select group of individuals dedicated to reviving Nubian heritage and language, lending the program a spirit of seriousness and passion for preserving this rich legacy and ensuring its continuity across generations.
